Pick a pumpkin at Keema's Pumpkin Farm

Nothing says fall quite like a trip to the pumpkin patch, and Keema's Pumpkin Farm is a local favorite. Opening on September 27th, 2024, and running through October 31st, Keema’s is the perfect place for families to embrace the spirit of the season. Founded in 2007, the farm has been in the Keema family for over a century, giving it a charming, rustic appeal that feels like stepping back in time.

But Keema’s is more than just a pumpkin patch—you can hop on a hayride, get lost in a corn maze, visit friendly farm animals and enjoy fun activities like face painting. Whether you’re looking for the perfect pumpkin for carving or simply want to enjoy a day of fall-themed fun with your family, Keema’s Pumpkin Farm is the place to be.

Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival

Mark your calendars for October 5th and 6th, 2024—the weekend of Elk Grove’s most iconic fall event, the Giant Pumpkin Festival at Elk Grove Park. For 30 years, this festival has been a must-visit, attracting pumpkin enthusiasts from all over Northern California. And if you’ve never seen a giant pumpkin up close—prepare to be amazed. In 2018, a 2,138-pound pumpkin broke the festival’s record, and every year the competition gets more exciting.

Beyond the jaw-dropping pumpkins, the festival is packed with entertainment. There are carnival rides, craft booths, food trucks and more—but one of the most unique events is the Pumpkin Regatta, where enormous pumpkins are transformed into boats for a thrilling race across the lake. The festival also hosts a variety of contests, including cupcake baking, scarecrow building and even pumpkin-based recipes.

Mid-Autumn Festival

If you’re looking for a cultural celebration to enjoy with your family, the Mid-Autumn Festival at Laguna Town Hall is a fantastic option. Taking place on September 20th and 21st, 2024, this two-day event features traditional performances, a lively night market and plenty of delicious food. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the rich culture and community spirit of Elk Grove while celebrating one of the most important holidays in many East Asian cultures.

Bring your friends and family for a night of festive fun, complete with exciting activities for all ages. From traditional performances to lantern displays, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a celebration of community, family and culture—making it a must-attend fall event in Elk Grove.
